Details of accommodation
The Lodge was built in the 19th century for the Gatekeeper to Spixworth Hall. To the family it is known as Herbie's, after the farm foreman who lived there for 50 years and created a charming garden out of the surrounding woodland.It was totally renovated in 1997 to give quality accommodation with two bedrooms, bathroom (with over bath shower), utility room, living room with wood burner, and a well-equipped kitchen with a conservatory dining area overlooking the garden which is teeming with wild life.
Both Lodge and Stables cottages have level access throughout, making them particularly suitable for those with restricted mobility.

Lodge Cottage is very well furnished and equipped with the following: gas central heating, electric oven and hob, fridge, washing machine and colour TV. A cot and high chair are available.
It is situated just off the Buxton Rd with a short walk of 1/3 mile down to the other cottages. The entrance gates can be closed to give a large secure area where children can play. All the facilities enjoyed by guests on the farm are available to those staying at the Lodge.
The entrance to Stables Cottage is the old stable door and is wide enough for a cart horse. It give access to a generous hallway with a bedroom on either side which look out through large arched windows to the 'new' stables (part of our livery enterprise). The open plan living/dining area opens out into a secure,
enclosed courtyard facing southwest and planted with old fashioned roses and shrubs.The spacious, fitted kitchen area should meet the needs of all users, great attention has been paid to accessibility and manoeuvrability throughout the cottage. The bathroom has both bath and walk in shower.
